This is an antique SESSIONS MANTEL CLOCK, circa ~1880. The exact model is unidentified.

This clock has an 8-day mechanism (requiring full winding of the mainsprings every week). A winding key is included. The clock strikes the hour, on the hour--and once on the half hour. The sound of the gong is soft and deep.

The wood finish on the clock is distressed, especially on the top (not visible in the photos). The front right corner seam of the bottom skirting is beginning to separate. The clock's movement has been completely re-conditioned and is ready for your shelf or mantel! We completely restored the clocks movement, in our clock shop, by completely rebuilding it with new bushings and mainsprings. We also have burnished all of the steel gear pivots on a lathe, using a carbide polishing wheel, which makes the surface area of the steel harder (withstanding more wear over time) and making the surface area of these pivots smooth and shiny. If you have the clock professionally serviced and oiled every three to four years, your clock should last for generations to come! This clock is sold with a Two-Year Warranty, according to our repair guarantee.
