This is
Hermle's version of a Curio Grandfather Clock. The ST. FRANCIS is an exception value for all of the features it has. It has four polished edge glass shelves (measuring 9" deep by 4" wide), for display of heirlooms and/or smaller knick-knacks. The ornate dial has pierced stars on the moving moon phase (which if a light is installed, which will cause the stars to "shine" at night). The dial also has a seconds hand bit. The weights have the fancy bands with schroll work. The oversized lyre, polished brass pendulum (pendulum bob measures 10.5 inches in diameter!) has alternating brass and steel rods. The cable-driven, quality brass 8-day, triple-chime movement even has an automatic night-time shut-off feature (in addition to the the chime selection/silence lever).
The only place, where we feel
Hermle missed the mark, is by not installing a light inside. We have found a way to install bright LED lights above the glass curio shelves, which illuminate the interior of the clock perfectly! If you buy this clock from us, we will include our
LED lighting kit with your purchase of this clock! If you live within
100 miles of our store, we will install the lights for you. If you live further, we will ship you the lighting kit separately. In that case, you will have to do the installation yourself, but you'll find it to be an easy task.

In using our LED Lighting kit, you may have to use an electrical strip, for multiple plugs, which fits behind the bonnet of the clock and is not visible.
